MENSCHEN in EUROPA 2013

Review

The winners of the MENSCHEN in EUROPA Award 2013: Valéry Giscard d’Estaing (r.) and Romano Prodi (l.), two truly „great Europeans“, whose decades of work, e. g. in the European Convention or the European Commission, have driven forward European integration. 

Helmut Schmidt was also presented with the MENSCHEN in EUROPA Award in 2013. Even if poor health prevented Schmidt from travelling to Passau, he did express his pride at being honoured, together with Romano Prodi and especially with his close friend Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, for their efforts to achieve a united Europe.
